    I haven't been able to find a comprehensive list of different splicing tutorials as I have been learning the ins and outs of it, so hopefully this will help others.

      Lock stitching is not supposed to be tight like the machine stitching you did in the UCR video. I would not recommend doing this. Lock stitching's purpose it to prevent the bury from backing out under no load conditions. It is not meant to add strength or restrict the fiber movement as the bury is being loaded.

      I definitely recommend adding the McDonald Brummel to your list (link). It's the best way I've found to add loops to lines with only one free end and I use it all the time.

      Repeating the two ended method to make a dogbone can work if you make the hole large enough for the first loop to pass through (that's basically the technique w/ the McDonald method), however the McD also works if you're adding loops to an end of a UCR's or past knots/other buries/complex splices that you can't fit through your line.

      I save this type of thing to my favorites and I don't have to bump them every couple of days to find them.
