    Permanently hung outdoor hammock

    I've been sleeping in my hammock(s) outside, year round, for about 7 years now. In winter, it's up under a tarp. In the summer, I use a different hammock.

    You could set up straps with a “ridgeline” and some rings between then it would be simple to hook the hammock onto the rings with carabiners

    That's the point of a structural ridgeline. It keeps the hammock hanging at a 30 degree angle (or whatever you set by changing the length of the ridgeline).
