I'm ready - looking at Sept & Oct. I Only have Oct 15 open right now. Maybe 22Oct
I'll keep an eye on this thread to see what happens.
I know this trip is already planned just across the GA/SC border. If you've never been to the Chatoogah River area, it is absolutely worth visiting!

That being said, that hang isn't until November, so I'm defintely down for another hang between now and then. I'm new to this area, so I will defer to others for location suggestions. As long as work doesn't interfere, I'm in! Got any proposed dates? I would vote for October 21-23.
If you're up for a little driving, there's a NE Florida hang upcoming on the weekend of 10/7. Little notice, I know, but, hey...
I would love to meet up with some fellow Hangers. Seems most of the Georgia hangers are way North of me.
Weekend of Oct 21-23 sounds best...any suggestions of where to go?
The fl hang is a little far but I am interested in the south carolina hang in nov if I can hook up with someone to get there
this ga hanger would like to go to a ga hang, but i do not have a car.....anyone one would offer me a ride??????
If we can figure a place and you are on the way id drive you up/down there :)
Any recommended places, I've only done state parks so far (with redtop being my go to as it's so close)
We got a hang going on October 8th at James "Sloppy" Floyd State Park in Summerville, Ga.
I'd also be interested in a hang. I know a place on the Ocmulgee river here in middle Ga. There is a trail there for hiking or biking and you could fish the river if you like. Only problem might be camping spots. It is really small and is usually full during the summer but in late October or November there may be nobody there. Plenty of woods to hang in.
I will be at the hang at James "Sloppy" Floyd State Park on the 8th of October. Come on the rest of you looking for a place to hang. Join us.
Unfortunately, work will prevent me from making that hang on Oct. 8th.
As far as locations for this hang, I nominate Pine Mountain for a more central Georgia location or any of the numerous places in northeast Georgia. The Chatoogah River area is my favorite, but the SC hang is already going there in November, so maybe one of the others like Amicalola Falls or Springer Mountain?
Bump.
Are people still interested in this hang Oct. 21-23? I nominate Pine Mountain for a central GA location or anyone of numerous options in the mountains of NE GA.
Pine Mountain would work for me in late Oct.

I've never been there, but I've hear good things. I do think we'd have to reserve a spot and pay for parking though since it's on a state park.
trail, great place to hike. best described as "mini AT"love pine mountain
A few of us from Florida are trying to plan a backpacking hang the weekend of the 15th up that way. We plan on traveling up Friday (14th) and staying over in a hotel a start out Saturday morning. Staying through Monday morning before driving back. We were thing of something near springer mountain and have head good things about a three forks near the AT?
Bump again. Has interest in this hang died? I will be hanging either that weekend or next depending on my work schedule; however, I will just make it another solo if this falls thru.
i am interested, but my problem is i don't have a car at the moment... i wanted to go to the "sloppy" hang this weekend, but my ride can't make it...logistics...
my girlfriend and I are interested in a hang. We live in Atlanta. October in crazy busy for me at work but possibly one of these November hangs.
I am still in the process of getting her a hammock. She's lounged in my WBBB & we tried out a HH from REI. She wants a Blackbird. As soon as I can get her to spend a night in it (which should be this weekend) we're gonna order one for her.
