Here is an even simpler way of shortening your suspension.

Rat, got it.
I made toggle keepers on my webbing.
I took a nail, held it with some pliers, heated the nail over a flame. Melted a hole on the last inch of my strap. Drilled a hole in my toggle, fished a line thru the hole in the toggle and then attached it to the hole in the webbing. Been hanging on the same two toggles for 9 months. No chance of losing 'em.
You could melt the hole with a soldering iron/wood burner too.
On the short side of things:
I've found that on my WBBB with 6' dynaglide whoopies if the whoopies don't go short enough my tarp will not fit between the trees anyway.
That's using an OES standard tarp with a whoopiesling.com single tarp ridgeline with knotbone and small figure 9.
Maybe with a two piece tie out system on the tarp that wouldn't be an issue but I'm unsure on that.
The trees are pretty close together though....
BlazeAway, thanks for those pics on shortening the whoopie slings. Never even occurred to me to double it over at the hugger. I think I might change from a toggle back to a biner just for the ability to do that if necessary.
