First DIY hammock
Hey guys I just finished what I am calling hunter's edition. It is roughly 11' of 1.1 ripstop digital camo with roughly 7' blaze orange whoopies and srl. I learned how to use the thread injector today and spent about 5 hours working on it. Made everything tonight. Hammock whoopies and the adjustable srl. Unfortunately my son decided to sleep in my indoor hanging area so I won't be able to lay in it until tomorrow. Here are some pics. I won't show you an up close pics of my seams but I will tell you let go significantly better as the project went along. My wife is not sure of me using her thread injector. I think she relates it to leaving your children with a child molester. Lol I don't think she trust me with it. Time will tell.
So take a look and I will let you know if I stay in air tomorrow.

Nice work! I can't wait to see it in action. :D

Thanks guys. You can only say nice work from a distance. Lol. You haven't seen the stitching. Oh well, you gotta start somewhere.
I also can't wait for tonight. I am very tempted to take it to work and hope that whatever job I am on will have trees the right distance away.

Like the color combo--let us know how it feels. Good work.

Nice rig man. I have a question about the ripstop though. Is that material slippery? I mean to you slide around in it or are you planted when you lay down?
-
I have found that it isn't any more slippery then another hammock. I have the wbbb1.1 dbl and a Hennessy expedition and neither are more or less slippery. Though working on it is another matter. I am just glad that there are grid lines. Lol

So I have had a chance to lay in the hunter hammock and I have to say it is mighty comfy. Though where I hung it isnt exactly idea distance and height it was still very comfortable. I had an almost flat lie in it. One question. How high should I expect the srl be to my laying in it. I could barely reach the srl while laying down.
Though on a positive. I got back to the thread injector tonight and made a stuff sack for it. It is made out of the same material so it isn't really water resistant. It is what I had on hand.

With stuff sack and cordlock no straps it weighs in at 9.9oz. Not too bad compared to my wbbb 1.1 dbl of 24oz with straps.

Where did you get the digital camo ripstop and how much is it? I am considering a DIY hammock and really want a camo one for stealth camping.
