Yeahhhhh! My orders in! Now twiddling thumbs, waiting for the postman... Let's see who is the first to post a pic of a tarp made with the lightest sil to ever hit the market!
I ordered 8 yards in black. Want to make a custom tarp for my custom hammock.

This has been added to my near future purchase list in black and red.
I also thought a black and red tarp with sharp lines would look very cool  I don't have the skills yet, but I want to make something like smokehouse's honeymoon suite tarp. That thing looks perfect for 2 under 1 tarp. If you have seen this tarp, it has multiple pieces of fabric, and I thought a black and red one would be pretty slick:thumbup1:

This would be my first tarp project. I will have to work up my courage, but I will.
I think the black will be nice. My hammock is a 9-footer in woodland camo, so I want to make an 8 x 10 with doors, no cat cuts and with a grograin ridgeline. Not sure about all the details. Since this is my first tarp, I expect I will put a good bit of thought into it. I have decided to call it The Hillbilly Black Rhino Tarp. I hope my sewing skills will be worthy of the name.
I will post some picks of the raw material, so that all may bask in the Argon beauty

it might be worth thinking about adding some cat cuts to the bottom sides, they really help with keeping the tarp taunt and really aren't much harder to do than a straight seam, just use lots of pins and go slow, with a straight edge along the bottom of your tarp it's hard to get the tarp to pitch without the edges flapping a bit

That's a great offering, Dutch!
