I was hanging off the tree but still submerged a bit. I was swimming from the trees but floating in the water at the same time..very cool!

was your hammock actually IN the water? If you had a waterproof fabric this would be a weet way to stay cool in the heat of summer? Assuming the water is colder than the air.
could be a hazard if the system fails, you become tangled underwater though.

I think it would take pressur off the suspension as water makes u lighter.

72f, this was at 3200ft in Arizona.
in pic 2 it looks as if those Piranha are very interested in your whereabouts.

Very nice, you should've had your fishing pole and caught some free trail dinner. Looks like a good swimming hole, does it get much traffic?
There are fish but they are all native. Mostly Arizona chubs and some native catfish type things. It does get busy but this is just one swimming hole along the spring run which is 15 miles or so. So even on a holiday weekend you can usually find a place to yourself.

I've hiked in and you're right, it's brutal ... full sun in the afternoon when I hiked out.
But the reward is worth it. You hike along in what seems like normal high desert terrain and then there's water bubbling up from the ground. One spring after another and then a fast flowing creek. It's beautiful. The only downside is it attracts a lot of people who don't know what LNT stands for :(
