whoopie slings another noob query
I have a TW hammock and have just made whoopie slings to try out. I have noticed that when I larkshead the whoopie sling into the hammock channel and hang it I get a lot more of a ridge up the middle of the hammock than if I just use the flat ropes that came with tne hammock straight to the trees.
Is this usual? Do I just put something bigger in the channel and attach the slings to this? Sorry if this is an issue already dealt with but would be grateful for guidance. ( the slings took me a while to make and I have become attached so to speak :) )

I also have the TW xl with some home made whoopies and found the same thing, the only thing I could do to really help was to mess with the hang angle, keep altering it and you will get a good lay out of it, it's just a matter of getting it right for you.
Re: whoopie slings another noob query
I changed from all webbing when I got a big delivery of amsteel, I didn't have any issues with the lay of my hammock but did notice the width of the end channel had decreased a fair bit... that may your problem.
A couple of things to try; put some webbing through the channel as well as/instead of (a loop of webbing) the amsteel or have a look at the mini spreader bar thread, it may or may not help.
