Wife's PinkBird on the Way

Man, I can't say it enough - Brandon rocks.

I got in on a small order a few weeks ago for a custom pink blackbird that Brandon was making for a few folks. My wife really likes the blackbird model and I wanted to get something special for her for Christmas (she often gets my gear hand-me-downs and I wanted something just for her).

Brandon said he'd work to get it to me in time for Christmas, but wasn't sure. Understandable as he still had to order the fabric, make and ship it.

Well, just got the shipping notice! It'll be here in time for Christmas. Very cool. Pics to come after the wife opens it up.

If I have time/opportunity, I'll sneak it out and set it up on one of my indoor hammock stands over the weekend for some pics as it should be here Friday. Otherwise, I'll take some on Christmas day after she opens it.

Sweet...I still maintain these should be referred to as a WBPF...Warbonnet Pink Flamingo. Pink Blackbird just doesn't sound right.:laugh:

I'd wrap up a plastic pink flamingo lawn ornament and give that to her first (it can be a mascot). Give her the real deal after you get "that" look.

Edit...of course you might want to consider that I've been divorced twice.:D

Might that be a way to get my wife to go?

Update: the shipment Warbonnet provided was actually a separate order for a Mamajamba that I placed. Because I had two orders in with them (the tarp and the Pink Flamingo), they inadvertently notified me of the tarp shipment via the Pink Flamingo order notification.

So, still nothing to show quite yet. I'll post something the day it comes in, though!

This isn't the Pink Bird, but in the words of Rino, "Its awesome". Notice the multi color.
I'll put up more pics tomorrow when I get it outside. It might be the start of a peacock, with the color options this opens.

UPDATE:

Okay all. I have an update. Sorry for the delay - I'd lost track of this thread for a little while.

It turned out that the shipping notice I got just before Christmas was actually in error. I'd placed another order for a tarp and sock from Brandon in December and they inadvertently notified me of that shipment through the Pink Flamingo order. I didn't update the thread here as I was hoping it would ship within a week or two and I could post pics.

A few weeks later, I contacted Brandon and he was having a tough time sourcing the pink fabric (the original vendor he had in mind was out). He didn't have a specific ETA, so I ended up doing something else for my wife (a custom Dangerbird) instead and asked Brandon to cancel my order. I was bummed to do so as a pink BB would have been great, but I needed to get something a bit sooner.

Bit of a bummer on this go-around with Brandon, but I understand that the situation was a bit out of his control. I've been very impressed with everything I've ever ordered from him and will be on the list for an XLC later this week. This one just turned out to lead to a cancelled order.

So, in the end, no pictures to share. My apologies to all those that have been waiting for them. I do believe that a few others were on the order with me, though. If they're on these threads at all, maybe they'll jump in with pictures of their hammocks when they get them...

And there goes my dream of seeing a flock of pink flamingos in the trees instead of standing around in water.:jj:

My 12 year old daughter is not gonna like this …. She would ask almost every day if pics were up for the pink hammock. She already has a pink tablecloth but was dying to see the BB. Anything pink is a winner.

sorry everybody, these pink blackbirds have not happened. my supplier has discontinued the color and i haven't been able to source any. i do appologise, they carried it the last time i checked
