They do warm ya' up a great deal. I just always got to much condensation overnight though.....even made one with a face vent. But I am sweaty. Glad they do work for some folk.

HK; when your in the sock with the zipper open is it positioned in such a way that you get va good view???,,,and can you lean out and make tea??

The zipper runs the full length of the sock and opens from either end (2 pulls) so you can position the opening anywhere you choose. It has a curve to it as well. The opening also runs paralell to the opening in the blackbird. If you were to leave a portion of it open (which you might for condensation) the bottom section would drop. I never really paid that much attention to it being open but I think you would get a good view out to the left side, if that is where your hammock opens.
As for making tea, I would be a bit leery of the part of the sock hanging down. If there was a bit of a wind I would think there is a possibility that the flap could be blown onto or near enough your stove to cause some damage.
I'm hoping to get out this weekend (their calling for +6c) and I will pay more attention to these details and let you know how it turns out.
THANKS for that great video!
Seems like the sock might flap around some in the wind....though stowing yer footwear in there might help some.
and you've got a one bag solution with this sock. I'd have everything in the waterproof stuffsack-pull out a tree hugger and clip around one tree, walk and feed out the whole kit to the second tree, around and clip to the dutch clip and done!
Great vid and review.
Bill, I have the bug net also from warbonnet (it's the same design) and I have leaned out many times and made a hot beverage. You can tuck the flap in if you are concerned but it's never been an issue for me.
Also when it goes on my rig it stays on and is stuffed in a larger bishop bag I made and is deployed like MM has suggested.
I'm hoping the heavier weight rip stop will maybe be a hair warmer than the lighter one but in any case I am REALLY loving this Multicam pattern. :)
Thanks for the review. Like others I have wanted to see one in action
Thanks for the video! Nice review. Nice design too. How do you think it would fit a hammock with a 108" ridgeline?
