I purchased a barely-used Ptarmigan from the For Sale area a couple of weeks ago and am finally getting around to crowing about it.
Here is a picture of the UQ on the hammock during my backyard test. I was out two nights in a row with temps down to 30 degrees. Slept fine both nites. The first nite it took me some time to figure out how to adjust things so as to not have CBS (cold butt syndrome.) But really not difficult at all. I had to tighten the quilt on the ends a bit, and when the quilt still sagged a bit, I just pushed the quilt up above my shoulders a bit more and that seemed to do it. The next night it was all automatic. The width of the quilt is quite ample. I liked being able to move the quilt around to insulate different body parts if I roll over, or it I go fetal. Very nice.

I could probably go lower than 30 degrees. I'll test that in the fall. I thought that having only 3/4 length might be a problem, but I don't notice the pad beneath my feet except when it tries to slither out of the hammock. Not really a problem.
Thanks Stormcrow. Its a very nice product.:D
