I’ve had several requests for video on some of my recent DIY projects. I’ve never tried video but there’s a “first” for everything so Mick (fellow HF Member) and I ventured out this past weekend to give it a shot. We chose the Winter Recliner II for our first subject because there have been 10,000+ hits between the two WR DIY threads and lots of feedback. I’m on the fence about doing more videos so let us know if there’s another DIY project you’d like covered and what you think of our début effort??
Side Note!! We are committed to the LNT philosophy even in heavily trafficked camp grounds, no green/living trees were damaged during the making of this video. The spruce boughs used in the site were taken from recently downed trees and limbs (victims of Winter Storm damage) with the Park Staffs permission :shades:

[o]TTer, that was a great how-to video on your amazing Winter Recliner.
I've had a chance to try it out and it's an awesome piece of kit!!!
One thing I was wondering; have you considered replacing the lark's head on the foot end with a carbiner to speed up the transformation into a full length hammock? Just unclip from the headring and off you go.
Either way, beautiful!

Great video of a really great hammock design. I really liked the aerial shots.

Hey Chard, I was apprehensive about getting in front of the camera but I think it was a successful first attempt; I like to do a few more. Mick did a great job putting this together and editing out my “Tourette's moments” every time a fumbled a line.
I started off with a climbing biner because I couldn’t find the rings at first; The SMCs were a generous donation from Bubba (Thanks again Mate!). A biner is much easier but adds weight; if you’re not going ultra-light then it’s a better option.

Thanks! We had a lot fun making the video. Our primary goal was to inspire the DIY’r to do this project, the chair is comfortable and worth the work (IMO of course).

I couldn’t agree more! Mick had steady hands on the boom grip and tilt lever :shades:

Thanks, I’ve always been on the photographer side of the media arena, I was reluctant to give video a shot but we agreed to give it an honest effort and see where it goes.
