Question about posting deals you find

What are the rules regarding posting deals you have found on the 'net.? I found a good deal for an item on ebay and wanted to pass on the bargain. I do not however aim to post a link nor name of vendor. Just to mention the item and price I paid so others can search for themselves.

Basically, we'd prefer to minimize the amount of commercialism on the forum. Just Jeff responded here the last time this came up.
