Is there a preferred orientation for Dutch Clips?

Since you put this on the forum, may I answer? Here in Lancaster County, PA, home of the Hex sign, Smorgasboard, and road apples, the Dutch clip works either bucket full or bucket empty. But the Dutch Clip with bucket full means good luck, just like the horseshoes on the barn. Try it onct'.

I am a Blacksmith/Horseshoer:
Let me start by saying;
It is little known that it is the blacksmith that pounds the luck into the shoe.
There is much more that can be said, but,
with my vast knowlage on horseshoes let me say this . . .
If you hold a horseshoe or dutch clip so it will hold luck . . .
. . . now pour water into it . . .
. . . they both, will hold about as much luck, as they do water. :D :lol:
Inside out is the absolute correct way.
It really doesn't seem to matter. I use mine usually with the opening on the bottom because that way gravity is working in my favor. But that theory is very flawed if the strap falls out the bottom. As long as the webbing is under the retension hook you are good to go.
