I was thinking this would also work great with only webbing and the CLs. Just hook the CL in the soft shackle, then slide the shackle up or down the webbing to the desired hang, and finish it off with the Becket hitch. With just the webbing/CLs, and Becket Hitch, you always lose a couple inches when you tie the knot. But with the soft shackle larksheaded to the webbing, there is enough friction to hold your hammock exactly where you want it while you tie the Becket Hitch.
