structural ridgeline ? from a newb

Ok I’m sure this is covered somewhere but the search is a long one so I’ll just ask & maybe get an answer or a hyperlink.

I have a SBP and want to add an adjustable structural ridgeline, I saw somewhere how to pass it through the bug net, but the question I have is how do I tie into the ends of the hammock. Not sure if that makes sense what I’m asking. In order for it to be load bearing and all.

I am on the fence as to use a prusik knot vs. a whoopie for adjustments.
I’m hoping with this mod I can also do away with those 2 annoying bug net cords.

Anyway thanks for any feedback in advance, & sorry as I’m sure this has been covered in detail & because of that I won’t even ask the question of Amsteel Blue 7/64 v. 1/8. LOL I did order a roll of 7/64 & am worried if itll hold my 260#

I forgot to add, for the ridge line I realize if I go with whoopie for the adjustment I need Amsteel, but what about using a prusik? If I use a prusik would 550 be adequate or better than Amsteel. Sorry I got so many questions. Feel free to ask me any medical related questions. :laugh:

Just larks head it to the suspension. It will hold, and work properly. 550 makes a poor ASRL because if stretch. I suggest something like zing it, lash it, dynaglide, or even amsteel. All of those are overkill in terms of strength but allow for a whoopie adjustment. 7/64 amsteel is going to be all you will ever need to hold you. I was at 260 for a few years from the same two woopies and they held fine, still holding my only slightly lighter 245.

That got me to wondering, I had planned on just putting the whoopie through the original sewn channel but was concerned with the thin surface area of the Amsteel cutting into the farbic. Is this overthinking it? I had seen a Youtube video I thought by whoopieslings.com & that is what they showed, just putting into the original channel.
I appreciate the help.

what pack eagle said.

here's a pic of mine.

i use nite-ize knot bones on my srl to adjust (shorten) the length. they also give me a grab hold and act as a stopper for stuff sacks and peak bags.
