I plan on sewing one like my smoke jumpers bag pictured here-

I sleep out in my yard pretty much every night. I have a sleeping bag under me and put this bag over me and put my feet in if I get cold. I like the way it surrounds me.- George
So I found something like a poncho liner (I think) at the salvation army for $5.
It looks new, but there is no head hole. So what have I got here.
It is a camo pattern and maybe about close to twin size with ties around the edge in several places.
Maybe a sleeping bag liner ??
The ripstop is super thin like 1 oz and the fill is very thin about like some of the other army liner stuff I have seen.
The Wobbie has no head hole, strange huh?
Well I found a tag and it is a poncho liner, but how do you use it as a poncho liner without a head hole ??
You don't. Army Field Manual 21-76 (99% sure this is the source) states the liner is to be used inside the issued poncho to create a lightweight sleeping bag. Of course, there are many uses for the liner, and another FM may, probably, and does say something different. Because of the many uses, I keep a liner in every car, a couple in the basement and a few more in the garage.
Okay,
I read that but did not put 2 and 2 together.
Makes sense.
