This is a dumb question, but what purpose does the knot on one end of the ridgeline serve? There's a simple overhand knot tied on one end of my traveler ridgeline right before the loop.
I figured it was for head end identification?

Perhaps it is an oversight.
Nah this is my third warbonnet hammock. They've all had it. Was always curious about it.
some have it some don't. if the ridgeline comes out a tad longer than it is supposed to, we just put a knot in there, the knot reduces the length by about half inch.
Hmmm... Learn something new everyday...
