What have I done?
Hello folks, from Duluth, MN.
Last fall we made a day trip to Itasca state park and in their gift shop were incredibly cheap nylon hammocks ($17). They were weight rated to 210, and I'm 250, but I figured for $17, oh well -- I had always wanted to sit in one.
Within 4 days of having this hammock, I went to buy a much more sturdy ENO SN, with a more appropriate weight rating because my head exploded with so much awesome. I couldn't believe what I've been missing out on for so long. It's incredibly comfortable and I look forward to the weather warming up to start enjoying it again. I'll be adding a tarp, bug net, underquilt, etc., but it's too expensive to get all at once. Hopefully I'll have a full camping setup by June.
Day two with the cheapo, a whopping 5" off the ground lol: http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...43045877_n.jpg

Hey Ttilberg, welcome to the forum. The hammock bug has bitten you. Don't worry though, it just keeps getting better :)

Had one hammock for a year, loved it... Found this site, a few months ago and now I have three and plans to make a DIY. You have been warned.

Welcome, tilberg! Yes, it is quite a revelation. I'd had a hammock for a long time to lounge in but then found this site through researching ultra-light camping. I'm now hooked on hammock camping.
You'll find these forums a great experience.
