I hope they decide to make one too.
Snow Owl is a great name!

uh oh, I see my bank account getting smaller if they do!
I'd buy one. I already have one of each of their current line. What's another quilt?

It'd be amazing no doubt about it.
Love the versatility of a 2 quilt system though.
I'd probably dig deep for one of those!
Greeting Guys
In my last conversation with the mad scientist at Hammock Gear Skunk Works Labs, he gave me some insight to some of the projects he has in development. ;) So pick up the phone and see if he will reveal any more details.
Cheers
Brian
Needs a quirky name like Insulation Pod, or IPod for short.
How is he supposed to get those projects done if everyone is calling him to talk? LOL, he always has 5 or 10 things going at once in his brain. His -15 UQ is DA BOMB!:thumbup1: Pods have a limited audience, but the ones who have them definitely love them. Mate a -15 with a *0 Burrow and you have the next best thing to a pod, it kept me warm at -19 at the Frozen Butt hang.
Heya Fin! How ya "hangin" ;)
I'm with you, Adam's UQ's work so good I haven't hit the temp where I need a pod instead, don't think I've even begun to come close.
Hmmm, well actually I HAVE been working on a pod system, among other things. It is actually coming along quite nicely. Kind of a lousy winter so far for testing pod systems out here in Central Ohio though. I know I know, I am sure I would not have to look far to find volunteers that live in cold weather to help me out. Turns out I found a few so we shall see....
Anyway, the pod system will more than likely be one that allows the user to remove the top section of the pod completely, so that the bottom can be used just as an under quilt. I won't go into too many more details than that at the moment. I was hoping to release it a month ago but that crazy black friday sale pretty much plowed us under...
Great! Will everyone stop calling me! lol. Just kidding. I will try to be a little more forthcoming on any future things going on around here. I will say that we have a lot of things planned for the upcoming season. Look for our line of silnylon tarps and an actual Hammock. I mean seriously, who names their company Hammock Gear when they do not even sell a hammock?:scared::D
Glad the quilt kept you warm down though the negative teens buddy! I really wish I could have been there. I had fun at the Mt Rogers "winter" hang but it sure could have been more wintery!

I want one!
I love the idea of making it removable as well. Such a great idea!

oh heck,,a hammock too? how long? single? how much is it going to weigh? what color(s)? how wide? What is the material made of? About the pod..how much is it going to weigh? What is the temp rating,? Can we devise our own temp rating? Color(s)? Is it breathable alittle? Any cuben in it? Can we specify what materials we want it made out of? Is there any more questions I can think of to ask. :) Seriously,,how much better can this get?
I'm looking forward to learning more about HG's "skunkworks" pod project. Part of me thinks that retrofitting "old" items for such a use would be da bomb!
A Pod a Hammock oohh boy I can't wait put me down on the waiting list for one of each. I've always wanted a pod and really like the prospect of a removable top. I know who Adam is going to get a phone call from tomorrow.
I was gonna save for an incubator. I'm now saving for the mystery pod-like thing.
AND a sil tarp...
AND maybe a HammockGear hammock...
Save save save.
Good gracious. I had no idea I stirred the pot. Adam, the removable top sounds slick. I will very much be interested in hearing about the hammock, particularly if a bug net is in the design. I'll be watching my wallet. I'm already pinching for the cuben tarp... I just need to wait for my birthday (come on, end of the month).
Pod fans all over the world just twitched their ears with this news.
Just awesome. I can't wait.

I find it so entertaining how people just get into a frenzy over new gear!! I'm sure it's like that with every kind of addict :D
You may have already seen an early prototype, if he goes the way he said he is. You just didn't know it at the time. ;) But you know the "crow," he changes his mind frequently.:lol: It's why I love the dude, he never sits still. Unless it is with a Mt. Dew and a late night/early morning movie.
I don't believe that the hammock will be a "massive contraption." The pod, probably - but I'm pretty sure the hammock will be the exact opposite. ;) Can you imagine HammockGear, or Adam himself, designing anything massive? He is quite the gram weenie, when it comes right down to it. He is always trying to find the lightest alternative, the most efficient design, the simplest solution. I've hiked with the guy a bit (not enough, he works too much!,) and done a fair amount of brainstorming with him in the past. I need to get down there again for awhile, it is always a fun, interesting time. And maybe I can get him on a trail again, to do some "product testing." :boggle::shades:
Would an incubator with a pod mod plus a canvas sock work? It may decrease the moisture problem.
