noob from IL
I just started getting into hammocks this year. Actually havent had my first hang yet, going in a couple weeks out to CO. My brother just got into as well, so I kind of went off his idea and I've always had a hard time sleeping on the ground backpacking. Plus the set up/tear down/packing seems at least easier, maybe even lighter.
Actually if anyone has ever been to Lost Creek/Goose Creek Trail in CO let me know any reviews/tips/etc...i'll be there in a few weeks!

home is where your hammock is.

Welcome Aaron. There's a number of us from IL on HF, a bunch in Chicagoland, the rest scattered about.
I'm just back from an overnight hang with my sons in the Forest Glen Preserve near Danville. There's an 11-mile backpacking trail which, as my body is telling me tonight, can be fair rugged with all its ups and downs, at least by Illinois standards. Made all the more interesting because of the mud :scared:
anyway, welcome.
