Have fun! I am jealous. I have a pop tart scheduled for right after work next Thursday at Stone Mountain State Park, NC. Can't wait!
I have a planned 1 nighter tomorrow, and I have pop tarts on my grocery list. Its almost the same.
De Soto National Forest, sounds like an excellent trip!
Already ate my poptarts today -- frosted strawberry. Yummy!
Got there about 2:15, if you stayed on the sand down by the water in the sun it was fine, kind of hot though. Up by the tree line the blood suckers would cover you up.:( Break out the bug suit, I know even hotter, but I don’t like repellents. Come on cold weather! Started out with the bottom rain cover and a space blanket in between. No tarp needed, it was a beautiful no moon star filled night.:) About midnight when I got up to water the plants, I had to add the spring time UQ. I don’t use carabiners on anything, all my connections are with loops and larks head knots. Lots of practice pays off when you’re in the dark one eye closed and half asleep. Should have already had it attached so I could have just pulled it under. All in all a good and uneventful trip, but I say again COME ON COLD WEATHER!!!
