Newbie from GA
Wanted to take a minute to step in and day hello. I've messed around with hammocks a little in the past. Mostly afternoon snoozes in a cheap knotted hammock I picked up in Mexico and the big Pauley's Island type. A few weeks back we were in a local store with a small outdoor section and and noticed several ENO hammocks hanging up. Now I'm not normally an impulsive kind of guy but something inside me said "I've gotta have one of those!" Now that was about 3 weeks before my birthday so I told my better half that I wanted a Doublenest and now I'm a newbie hanger.
I've been reading the forums and watching videos since that fateful night and have digested a LOT of information which has reawakened an old itch to hammock camp (it dovetails nicely with a couple of my other obsessions - flyfishing and geocaching). Hope to have some better suspension in the coming weeks but the slapstraps will do for general hangin around and a tarp and bug shelter will definitely be in my future.

Steve D,
Welcome, you Newnan Newbie! I can say that because I grew up around Newnan (my Mom and brother still live there). That area is where I developed my love of the outdoors. I was in town at Christmas time and still get there a time or two a year. Glad to have ya aboard!

Welcome to the forum! I fly fish, too. I think two of the most relaxing things in this world are fly fishing and hanging in hammocks :)
