footbox drawcord storage / alternative method of cinching footbox?
Hey everyone, long-time lurker and first-time poster here! Thanks to many DIY guides here on HF, I recently made a 48"x80" down top quilt with Momentum 50. I opted for a drawcord closure and plastic snaps rather than a sewn footbox.
I'm perplexed about what to do with the 4 feet of dangling shock cord when the footbox is closed. I've been hanking it but I keep waking up with the cord wrapped around my ankles! :)
I'd love to do away with the cord altogether and find another way to close the footbox. I've considered plastic snaps along the foot end but I doubt they would close the footbox as tightly as the drawcord method. I've also thought of simply gathering and lightly whipping the end of the quilt when I want a footbox. Any other ideas?
