Marlin spike hitch
Has anyone wrapped the strap and made a Marlin spike hitch with both ends at the same time? Basically the two ends are overlapped and a the hitch is made conventionally. This way you don't need to thread one end through the loop at the end of the strap or use a Dutch clip. I think the first time I made a Marlin spike I did it this way, it seemed secure, quick and a little less hardware.

Good idea - simplifies setup, less hardware.. Only thing I'd be worried about is that if you tie your marlinspike farther from the tree you might run into issues with the webbing slipping down the tree. You might need a ridgeline to keep tension on the it?

You'll need a longer strap to wrap around larger trees, or if you need to use your strap to extend your hang distance.
