First tarp?
I am looking for a tarp to replace my hennessy tarp, and was wondering if I should just make one, but Im wondering if I don't do cat cuts, then will I still be able to get the door effect of the warbonet superfly? I don't have a ton of money to be spending on tarps and stuff (hey! Im 15) but my dad doesnt like me watching TV, so i can usually leverage that to get him to by me materials :D
Thanks all!

You ought to be OK. Just add some tabs in from the corner tabs and you can get the door effect. Here are a couple of pix of my lightest tarp:

Me .... I am no math whiz so I just"eyeball" my cat cuts. Worth doing in my opinion. Makes for a tight, flap-free pitch.
TV is lame anyways. Good on you. Go old school.

I agree with the whole tv thing, but if it makes it so I don't have to spen 80 bucks on materials, then i'm fine with it :)
I may try the cat cuts, i'm just afraid of wrecking the material, and the sewing bit. Ive done some sewing, but never really able to sew straight... so hemming will be scary to say the least. But I shall try my best... Over the last 15 years ive gotten really good at screwing something up, then making it better :)

If you do not have it already ... here are the best instructions for a tarp: Black Cat Tarp
Just sew slow and let the machine do the work. Practice on scrap material a bit and do not expect your first to come out perfect..
