the NX 250 COOL !!! for hotter weather?

there is a note for the NX200 to the NX250 that the 250 has head ventillation?? does this allow the head area to be cooler and is there really a differance between them?

I think you misread - the TX250 has head ventilation, not the NX250.

Assuming you have the weathershield down, and only using the bugnet, I would think the difference between the TX250 and NX250 - only condisering the head ventilation - would be minimal, as you have a ton of ventilation from the bugnet.

However, the TX would be cooler for other reasons (not having the insulation pockets for example)

So between NX200 and NX250 the only real difference is the poles and the way the rainfly works - temp wise they should be identical.

I agree, I only see it on the TX.

I can say that the 200 doesn't have any type of additional head ventilation. I've had it up to around 90, I go with the Hennessy when it gets MD Summer Hot and humid, though. Clark gets a bit warm unless there's a breeze.

I have both and too many. If I didn't respect Clarks I'd hang from others. I've described elsewhere a value added pricing model. IMO, the additional area of ventilation in my Tropical from the noseeum is minimal, but I can understand Clark including as a feature.

The issue, which calls for measurement, is how much air gets through the close weave of Clark's no-seeum, and even how much the temperature goes up inside from lack of air flow. I'm sure bugs can't get through. And I appreciate that rather than just spanning the zippers with seamless netting, Clark creates sewn-over gathers, a rough grid, which provides stability some maker do not, and even defined smaller areas for replacement should there be considerable local tearing.

I want to have the $ courage to replace a pair of those panels with coarser, insecticide and repellent-infused coarser bug netting, to see if in really hot weather the air flow cannot be increased. But, the head-net? I would value it more if I could find a reason to deploy the optional weathershield over my body, but then not prefer some DWR protection over my head as well.

On Clark hoods: Thumbs up for a feeling of protection without any real enclosure. Great for stowage too, with added loops.
