Re: Reflectix = Invaluable
It's truly great stuff. I use a piece folded in half inside of a USPS tyvek envelope as a sit pad and at night as insulation at the foot of my hammock. It beats CCF for comfort.
Re: Reflectix = Invaluable
I just bought a roll, although the brand in the UK is thermawrap and the bubbles are slightly bigger. It really is great stuff, made a cozy for my heiney pot, boiled some water, popped it in the cozy to see how long it would stay warm... after 3 hours it was still too hot to keep my finger in and after almost 6 hours it was around bath temp... impressive stuff.
Insulation is supposed to be equivalent to 65mm of polystyrene.
Re: Reflectix = Invaluable
Careful sewing into a hammock. I landed on my butt a couple times I tried that.
In trying to lighten our load we r going to try the reflectix pads with a layer of cloth glued to it.

Experiment#1.
Re: Reflectix = Invaluable
Im was really just trying the spray glue with experiment 1. Thats a half a twin flannel sheet we dont use anymore. Found it in the back of my closet. Was planning to try fleece next. Since I posted I haven't had time to try it. The glue seems well set now.
Re: Reflectix = Invaluable
Yeah it looks like the correct type of stuff, I have some that is branded 'thermawrap', it's the easiest reflectix equivalent to find in the UK and it works great, as does the thermawrap aluminium tape. The stuff you found is much less expensive
