Drip brake point

Hi all,

First time poster.

My current Hammock set-up is a DD Frontline suspended using the DD black tape but with crabs at the end of the hammock to both act as a drip brake and allow quick adjustment.

However...

I am about to convert over to Whoopie slings. Set up will be:
Tree Hugger -> Marlin Spike Hitch -> Whoopie sling -> Double Sheet bend -> hammock.

My question is: Does the tail of the Whoopie sling act like a drip line, diverting the drips away from the hammock or do I need to introduce a ring / crab / drip line into this system to avoid getting wet. (I live in a very wet part of the world.)

As long as the tail of your whoopie is under your tarp, it will work just fine as a drip line.

I thought as much. I will add a back up drip line close to the hammock for those times when the hammock is set up over a long span.

Even if you hammock is setup over a ong span, the location of the whoopie tail should not change, as long as I think you have your whoopie set up the way you actually do.

Doh! I haven't made the change over yet - and therefore haven't had a 'play' with the set up. Sorry for the newbie error!
