I have been sleeping in my eno single nest for the last 3 months and for some reason last night I fell out in the middle of the night, I know I toss and turn but usually I wake up to to turn. Is this something that happens to everyone I hate to think what would happen if I was hanging on a steep hill
I honestly didn't think it was possible to 'toss & turn' out of a hammock. Are you sure you are not sleep-walking?
I have (like many on this board) miscalculated my entry procedure and ended up on the floor, but I have never fallen out while in the hammock.
Got to agree with Rug...don't think I could fall out of my DN if I tried. Bad entry or less than graceful exit sure but not once I'm in...Quote:

I have never fallen out. Though the whopie sling wasn;t locked correctly one time and it slipped loose. I landed on the floor on the center support of my stand.
Make sure the slope under your hammock leads to water. That will wake you up.
As loose as my hammock hangs I can't imagine how I could fall out. That's not to say I haven't missed the hammock and sat in the UQ or had a knot slip and gently placed my arse on the floor. Not to say it can't happen but as hard as it is to get out in the morning,well..............
Bad visual of you rolling down a steel hill. Have never fallen out or even come close but you might try loosening the suspension up a bit. Do you sleep on a diagonal? Just curious.
I have fallen out of my hammock once but have never witnessed a 'steel hill' haha, just messing with you. I wasn't sleeping however, never done that. Its possible you were sleepwalking!Quote:

I have never fallen out of my hammock, but I owned a Ticket to the Moon (I think this brand is very similar to ENO) single hammock for a couple of months and remember that I had the feeling of being kicked out of it initially. I believe that the hang angle was too shallow; an easy mistake to make without a ridgeline. I also wonder if the end-type makes a difference: I found that I prefer gathered end over cinched end.
Except for the learning curve of not trying to sit in my under quilt instead of my hammock, no fall out of either my BlackBird, Hennessy or Clark. Now I've also got cheapy hammocks that I'll hang up to just lazy around in during the day and one of them is rather narrow. That one has felt a bit tippy if I was off center in it.

I fell out once during a lightning storm in the afternoon. I was sleeping and suddenly woke up to the sound of a tree being struck with lightning sounded like it was over my head and i quickly rolled out and on to the ground and out from under my tarp. Thankfully it was a different tree about 25 ft away and the limb fell in the other direction from my setup. But apart from that no falls.
the only time i ever fell out of my hammock was sleep walking and testing out a Bridge with Dutch LOL...Long story :rolleyes:...i didn't even know the time i was sleep walking ... the only reason i know is the wife told me LOL
for some reason i get up go down stairs and sit indian style in my office chair and sleep sitting up.... go figure :rolleyes: happens a few times a month it was a few times a week thing for a while but i don't do it as much ...
i almost burned the house down too in my sleep put tatter tots in the oven in my sleep and turned it on HAHAHAHAH true story ask the wife she got up to get ready for work there i was sleeping sitting up in my chair and the oven on ... i went to be with her LOL
i also have an eno hammock and i find pulling the 6 inch piece stitched to the larger piece over me eliminates this problem.
Never fell out of the Hennesy ED. Did a fabulous flip out of a rope hammock once! I don't think anyone saw! :o)
IMO it's the singlenest. My 10 year old daughter uses a SN but I don't think it's wide enough for an adult, unless you are a hobbit. Try something wider.
