I have began my first project with this machine. This may be a beginners machine, but it is definitely doing a great job so far. I am not great with sewing in the first place, but compared to my free machine that I have been trying to learn with for a year, this is a ton easier.Quote:

Double needle sounds awesome. I hate going over seams twice. They'd probably still be crooked but at least they'd be parallel :rolleyes: . I wonder how that works underneath with a single bobbin.
Yup, got me one of those as well. I'm at home sick for a couple days with a nasty cold, but will be going to get a couple cheap pieces of fabric somewhere soon to start on a first project. I thought about doing something simple like a cozy for the Enertia Trailfoods meals that I like so much. I thought about getting some Insul-bright fabric and some cheap-o fleece to cover it with. HC, we still on for that BlackCat and snake skins? :D
take care of that cold hooch... otherwise we'll have to send you to some of those medical people:p

Agreed, but the only place to hang here is outside my apartments, which, at the current time is cold. Bummer. Unfortunately, the olny thing you can do with a cold is let it run its course and treat the symptoms, which, for the record, suck. I'm working on plenty of chicken noodle soup, OJ, ramen and mac & cheese. Comfort foods always make me feel better when I'm sick. I'm thinking of making a run to JoAnn Fabrics and Hobby Lobby later this afternoon or this evening just for something to do though. I'm really itching to start a first project. :DQuote:

This is my 3rd tarp. The first one pissed me off after I was 80% finished and I trashed it... vowing to never sew again.... seriously peed me off.
My second was ok but had alot of mistakes and I ended up using the fabric to make a hammock for my daughter (it was all DWR).
My biggest hurdle learning to sew was actually getting the machine setup and going. Now I can fill the bobbin, thread the needle, and be sewing in minutes.
I will definitely post pics when I am finished with this one. I am kinda proud of it.

Machine set-up was certainly a challenge! I bought a really old machine and the only manual I could find online had pics that were just barely legible (very fuzzy). I felt like a 2 year old trying to tie my shoelaces as I was trying to run the thread through the machine. Still don't know why there have to be so many stupid **** hooks, clips, and springs to make a silly line of stitching. :D
