Welcome from Ontario, Canada!
I'm a newbie to hanging as well, but have put in my time on canoe trips and ground dwelling.
Lots of good info here, no question.
Welcome from Schenectady, NY!
Welcome from Irmo, SC. I'm very familiar with TR, my wife graduated from Furman. I remember how big a deal it was when the Wal-Mart opened up there! haha
You just missed the Spring Swing over at Huntington Beach, but a bunch of us SC hangers are gonna make it to the Smoked Butt hang in the Raleigh, NC area. Hope you can join us!

Hey Justin,
Welcome to the forum!
I really enjoyed meeting you two this weekend. You're right, it was a pretty incredible couple of days.
For those of you familiar with Sassafras Mountain, Half-hitch and I were hiking from Tablerock to Hwy 178 and we met Justin and his friend at the old cabin remains, just a mile or so before you get to the Sassafras Mtn. overlook. They had their hammocks strung and were enjoying the stone furniture.
We ran into them again the next day at the overlook.
There is a wealth of information here. Lots of DIY and hanging tips. Sometimes, you'll feel like you're drinking from a firehose.
If you have any questions, just ask. You will have to look for a long time to find a bunch of people as helpful as I find these to be.
I look forward to seeing you on one of the local hangs.
Swampfox
Cool! I've only seen Swampfox from a distance. I'm not sure I'm worthy to come across him yet. ;)
I do love the Table Rock area. I'm also glad you found my YouTube. See anything you like?
That new overlook is nice. I recently found out that the stone furniture was put out by the Foothills Trail Conference (FTC). That makes me a bit more cool with it all...perhaps a location for a future hang?
Speaking of the fire-hose analogy, we are all here to help each other, so don't feel weird to ask anything, as we were all noobs once (except maybe Dutch...). I do recommend the $10 donation so you can learn even more than just the awesome hammock stuff.
Welcome Justin! From Nashville, Tennessee.
I still come back to the Greenville area several times to year to visit family. Was born-and-raised right there in Powdersville.
I just did the Foothills Trail last year (or was it the year before now?), including the spurt to Jones Gap SP. NICE trail, very nice.
