It depends on my area. If two-legged predators are really only my concern, I carry a little .380 in my pocket holster and it stays there. If four-legged critters could be an issue, or its my first time in strange woods, I carry my .40 in a Sahara Strider. It's low-profile and looks just like a front pack. This of course is predicated upon the fact that I'm in a state that I am legally allowed to CCW.

Clark has pocket specifically for pistol near left of head position.
If I did carry, i would use 2QzQ peak bag. That is what it was actually designed for.
Even laying in the hammock I have my firearm on me.. I usually have a snub nose 38 or a Glock 23 in my Thunderware. If I want to save weight I carry a 380. I have tried putting one in the WBBB shelf or pockets in other hammocks but find it harder to access quickly if laying down or asleep.
