where abouts in nor-cal?
I guess my experince has been somewhere in between yours and Plowhorse's. My friends do want to go, but they are not willing to invest any money into new gear. I don't mind lending them so things, or buying things I need for myself (like a stove, for example), but there comes a point where you just hit a ceiling in terms of backpacks, raingear, and so forth.
Since most of my friends are grad students with little to no income, I completely understand if they have other priorities, and want to spend their hard-earned funds on something else. At the same time, however, I am interested in trips that we simply cannot do with their current gear. Hence my desire for new hiking partners.
understandable. I'm in my early 20's so all my friends are exactly the same... we want to go but have no money. I've been investing for about 6 years i think and I have too much stuff. Why not just make a stove? I made one for about 14 bucks just the other day.
haha thats for sure!
Yes, well, it's definitely...different;) Today I was dayhinking in Strawberry Canyon (Right behind the football stadium) and met everything from a jogger in *bright* pink spandex to an Amish-looking couple and a guy in a fedora and gray silk suit who looked like he had just stepped out of a mafia movie. It does keep things interesting, that for sure:rolleyes:
little more conservative up here
