I accept that if you use a Sheetbend as a Bowline the pull is through different parts of the knot so it may not be as strong. I would be interested if the video shows a comparison of both knots on the same rated rope/cord and pull.
Knots-Whats your favorite
I use a figure 8 knot only to secure the ends. Most of my other knows are a bowline at the end of all tie outs so I only have to slip the stakes in. I also use a voladian tresse knot for adjusting my tie outs. I find this knot works better than prussics, swaibish or kliemish knots. I am sure most of those were spelt wrong. Lol. Other than that whatever knot I feel I need at the time. Have I mentioned I am an arborist and a scout leader. I like my knots. Others are blunt hitch, two half hitches, clove hitch and butterfly are others.
