Hiking pole - spreader bars

For those bridge hammock users that have tried using your hiking poles as spreader bars, what kind of poles are you using?

I have some old Leki Super Makalu titanium poles that I have used and abused for the last 10 years. They still work well and I am toying with the idea of using them as spreader bars. My other thought is to hand them down to one of my boys and buy new ones.

One of the poles that looks interesting is the black diamond z-pole series. They clip together more like the aluminum spreader bars most of us use. Anyone seen or used them?

I have used Koomperdell and Leki for spreader bars. Both have worked well for me.

Has anyone used Ti for spreader bars? If so any suggestions as to stock size/wall thickness?

Does anybody know how to make the BMBH be able to use Leki Makalu poles as spreader bars?

We only sell in increments of feet and you didn't give me a wall thickness, so I will quote several pieces by the foot. If you are using 18" lengths then you might want to buy 3ft sections that would leave you with no scrap. I don't mind cutting them in 18" lengths, but you would need to buy them in 3ft increments. I won't charge to cut them in half.

1"OD x 0.025"wt = $19.20 per foot (3ft = $57.60 = 2pcs @18" = $28.80 per each 18" section)
1"OD x 0.036"wt = $21.00 per foot (3ft = $63.00 = 2pcs @18" = $31.50 per each 18" section)
1"OD x 0.042"wt = $21.00 per foot (3ft = $63.00 = 2pcs @18" = $31.50 per each 18" section)

I have thicker wall tubes if you want. I have 0.051"wt @ $24/ft, 0.065"wt @ $30 per ft & 0.070"wt. @ $32 per foot
