I'm trying to figure out which of the polys I need to use to make my suspension, what do you all think is better. I see poly is better than nylon but cant figure out which goes where.
Thanks

I have the polypro cause it was considerably cheaper than the polyester. At least from Strapworks. I like it fine and it seems to right for me. I think it is probably heavier than the polyester seatbelt webbing lots of folks use. But I am not a gram weenie so it doesn't bother me too much.
Polyester only for me. I've had polypro almost wear in two. Polyester also has a lot less stretch than polypro. Polyester webbing can be found in the form of ratchet straps. See this thread for more info.
There are several threads here that discuss the benefits and advantage of both materials.
Im doing the math on this now, Hope to get seatbelt polyester but may go with polypro. thanks all
Polester is stronger, but heavier and more absorbant than Polypro...
Its strength advantage, close to that of nylon, with less stretch than nylon is why it is frequently used in tie down straps.

I've never done the math but is it really cost effective to by tie down straps vs just buying the webbing. I see it done all the time so it must be.
It depends on your source for the straps. The yellow Harbor Freight straps can often be had for < $3.
Strapworks price 1" polyester webbing: $0.38/ft, 24' == $9.12 + S&H
Harbor Freight ratchet straps: 2 - 1"x12' on sale $3.99 + S&H online or approximately $3 in store and even less on sale.
Strapworks advantage: you pick the color
Harbor Freight advantage: cost and if you have one nearby, immediate gratification.
Harbor Freight disadvantage: bright yellow color and you have to either cut the h/w off or cut the strap and sew the loops, but then strapworks charges extra for sewing the loops.
If you don't do DIY then strapworks or OWF is probably better. If you like DIY Harbor Freight is hard to beat.
