Dutch's hammock suspension clip
This little clip made by Dutch is really cool. ;) I have a desire to see if these could be easily made and what interest there might be from the HF crowd. Dutch has given me the OK to check it out and I believe he might be doing the same investigation.
What do you think? Would you be interested in these? Not sure what to make them out of yet. Dutch's were made out of 3/16" aluminum. I'd like to check on 1/8" SS also.

Count me in when making first batch!
I would be interested in 2. I saw Tim ( your wife did an excellent job on the zipper looked like it came new like that wish I'd had this on my thru hike) today to pick up my hh with a mod #2 and he told me about them. They would be alot less bulky than a binner and lighter.
Crash buckle similarities and Crash buckle mod
These crash buckles are made for 1" webbing, but the gap is too large to securely hold the other webbing in the way the horseshoe buckle does (IMO). The crash buckle "hook" can be cut off, leaving a curved profile tri-glide. Results in about equal weight to a JRB tri-glide. The curve causes it to be just slightly harder to thread the webbing through, but it probably has a slightly better grip on the webbing too (not that the JRB tri-glides have ever slipped on me, nor have I heard reports of any slipping problems from others).
I'd be interested in buying some of the horseshoe clips when they become available. Hopefully the 1/4" will prove strong enough.
