Just recently replaced my therma-rest pad with a 20* Incubator from HG. I cannot express how pleased I am with this switch. In 20 years of camping, this is my most satisfying gear purchase.
I will buy a 20* burrow this week. Probably wide, with snaps (?).

I went with the sewn foot box on my 20* Burrow and couldn't be happier. If I were going with a 40* then I would have gone for the snaps as I didn't see myself opening up the bottom of the quilt in the cooler weather.

I went with 2oz overstuff on my 0* incubator and I'm really pleased with how it lofts. Overstuff can also help stop loosing heat through the quilt if its windy/draughty.
My 20* burrow has a snap footbox because I like to sleep with one leg bent and thought that being able to unsnap a couple might help with coverage. I haven't tried a sewn footbox to compare, but the snap option works well.
I went with 2oz overstuff on the burrow too. It's a great quilt.

I've got a Wilderness Logics 3/4 that's pretty similar to the Phoenix 20 degree. I'd really like to completely eliminate the use of a pad since it's difficult to carry on my bike. For those with an Incubator, do you need a pad at all?

OP:
Glad to assume there's been some drying out on the Jersey Shore; and freedom from voluntary cold in voluntary temporary shelter is the subject.
You are looking at a lot of bulk, even when packed. Is all that even the most compact way of keeping your lower legs warm? And, aren't you tall enough to be tempted by getting a long, which will be bulkier, still? Will there be room for all of it under your UL winter-shelter cuben tarp>
But, "'tis the weekend.....".
Maybe much-overstuffed 0F UQs rarely comes up for sale, pre-owned, because they're keepers for those who have been cold.

On over-stuffing: If lightly-compacted down doesn't lose much insulating effect, then there must be and indeed is an insulating effect not accounted for just by loft, the air-space.

Decided to go with 2 oz. overstuff on the Incubator. I'm very happy with the 20* Phoenix w/2 oz. overstuff, so I think I want to maintain the separation in capabilities. I know I can get to 15 degrees with the Phoenix from experience, so now I'm pretty sure I can get to -10 with the Incubator.
I'm not a gram weenie, but as Opie says, I do see the merits. A couple of ounces ain't gonna rock my world, and should give me a good range of satisfaction/warmth I'll enjoy.
