hi ,i need some of the above and also some amsteel blue to suit ,for ridgelines for two hammock setups, anyone got any spare.
their is a group buy going on for lash/zing it, the link to thread is below,
http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=13787
people have suggested to me that amsteel is overkill for a ridgeline but to each their own, lash it or zing it could just be another option, for figure nine biners id try your local hardwear store
I can find the S-biners everywhere in town. But finding the small Figure-9s has been tough. I finally found a set of 4 (with guylines) for $10, which is cheaper than I can find them online after including shipping. Ex, I found Figure-9s for $1.85 each, but shipping was nearly $8 for four of them.
i,m in scotland though.
I'd be happy to gather what you need and send it on to you. I have some DynaGlide in a 2mm. Just let me know what size S biners and Fig 9s that you need and the quantity.
I can get little "s" biners for about $1.50. Let me know how many you want and I'll mail them to you. I'll pay:)

nah. It's just easier this way. Besides if I buy you biners you give me a place to stay when I come to visit for a couple of month's ;) It all works out.
That sounds like a good trade for all involved! Except maybe for stonecold, but great trade for Mr. 7's!
I use the s-biners ( NiteIze ) for a multitude of uses in every size.
( From cocoon closure, UQ to TQ, to hooded cape clasp, plus the usual hammock and tarp and gear uses.)
Hate to give the profit to some of the stores that charge much more than Harbor Freight, the best place I've found. But there are no Harbor Freights where I live, I get them when visiting out of state.
On one of AHE's video he has them on one of his items.
Have wanted to ask him or another vendor if they can carry them as hardware items in various sizes.
So that is a request stated here.
Understanding that it can be a lot of work for group buys, so am NOT asking for a group buy.

OK.. Ive been scouring the net looking for the best prices on Nite Ize products. I found this after I had placed my order for a bunch of figure 9's....
Small figure 9's for as low as $1.60 if you order 10 or more...
http://www.batteryjunction.com/f9s--02-01.html
Plastic S biners in size 2 for $1.05 if you order 6 or more...
http://www.batteryjunction.com/sbp2-03-17.html
SS S biners in size 2 for $1.75 for 10 or more...
http://www.batteryjunction.com/s-biner1.html
Which ones are you specifically interested in? The Battery Junction site seems to be about rock bottom, unless youre paying wholesale.
Ive been thinking about grabbing some of the Figure 9's and some #2 S biners in both SS and plastic... TO have on hand should someone want some with an order.
Ive also got a 5% off coupon I can use if someone wants to order a bunch.

headchange4u sent your reply over to the other thread on this subject.
Thanks for the info.
Checked out the batteryjuntion site; they are within the range of HarborFreight.
Figuring out what I'll need in the coming month's projects.
Have bought over 30+ s-biners in the last year, for myself and gifts for others.
The 3packs from HarborFreight are the best deal, $5.?? but only in the store, not online.
Same 3pack in SportsAuthority and 2 other sportstores here in NYC are $9.??
Making some more DIY vanCamping interior setup and hammock gear; expect to need 1 or 2 dozen more in the next few months. Varied sizes #1, 2, 3
I did some math and with the 5% off coupon I have, that brings the price of 3 #2 size S biners down to $5.25.
I say wait and see what Paul is going to bring out. I found these...
http://www.nrsweb.com/shop/product.asp?pfid=1431.2
Not bad at $2.95 but no mention of their rating.
Opie, I'll take 6 each of
Plastic S biners in size 2 for $1.05 if you order 6 or more... ( like that green or red, if there's a choice...or even black)
SS S biners in size 2 for $1.75 for 10 or more...
you can hold them til we finalize my order for the tarp ridgeline etc.
thanks
Opie,
Paul ( AHE ) seems to be going with a gate carabiner. Perhaps at a higher rate.
NiteIze's #2 ss is only rated at 10 lbs. #3 are 25, #4 are 75lbs.
It looks like #2 are used by some on their tarps (... it looks like #2s next to their fingers ).
Is there a general assumption that they are stronger then what is printed on the s-biner ? Perhaps.
I like the dual gate of the s-biners. Have used that as easy connector of two pieces of gear. ( Like TQ tabs to UQ tabs; or clothing clasps. )
Have not done the math yet. Just preparing for the near future.
The shipping costs makes one think about what you want; carefully planning ahead.
Thanks for the heads up on BatteryJunction. 10 or more #2 s at $1.75 is pretty good.
Had been wondering if a vendor was selling them; prefer to buy here.
Paul said NiteIze has a high minimum.
( Currently hammock Wishlist is another pair of WhoOpieSlings from you and I do want
the WhoOpie RL. All in the future after finished with the current DIY projects. )
BillyBob58,
Do love HarborFreight. 88% of the real hardware stores here in NYC have been wiped out by HomeDepot. Not that HarborFreight is like the old fashion hardware stores.
But ...better than ...
One of my brothers knows I want to go to HarborFrieght every time I visit him.

Using my digital fish scale, I just put 50 pounds of force on a SS #2 S biner. At about 15 you can see it start to flex, but between 20 and 50 there isnt much more noticeable movement.
And the flex did not extend beyond the notches the gates fall into. It was very minimal.
Sandy...Theres time. Ill see about getting a large order in next week. I shot an email off to them to see if they can do better on the prices if I order over 20 of each.

cool test : #2s faired what I expected from the manufacturing and design.
Wishlist : 10+ count #2 s-biner
Have to do some figuring in the next few days and get back to you.
Seems that some planning will save the extra shipping....
Buying thru you, if you get better quantity price ...( with some profit for you )...

And get the whoOpie slings and RL at the same time; in the near future. Presently no rush.
Can't do the math right now.
Will get back to you.

Sandy, 3G.
I placed an order through BJ last nite. I should be well stocked for awhile. Some of the SS #2 S biners are on backorder, but they are sending 12 with my order and the rest will ship once they re-stock.
