water runs down hill...
let me start by saying I don't even have a hammock yet( although I did just purchase one). I am aware that water runs down hill to the lowest point. I understand that I will use the rain fly to the best of its ability, but what about the water that runs down the line towards the lowest point, which should be my fat ***.
maybe this is not an issue or maybe its handled in the rigging.

Yes, handled in suspension, search drip rings or drip stops, lots of info on here about it.

It's all in the suspension. Usually you'll have a break in the suspension like a carabiner, descending ring, cinch buckles. I use dutch biners and they work great. you can also do a drip string like tying a shoe lace to the suspension and just letting it hang so the water drips down it. Make sure the break or the shoelace is under the tarp. there are also a lot of post about this.

I was sure it was covered but it helps to know what things are called in order to be able to find them. Thanks all.

That would only happen if the tarp ridgeline is under the tarp.
If the ridegeline goes OVER the tarp, no problem.
Final option, dont use a continuous ridgeline, just tie off a tarp point. The knot will act to stop water.

Dutch whoopie hooks make a great drip point. I've put them on all my hammocks.

Vinny, I believe he is talking about the hammock suspension not the tarp suspension. You are right that a CRL under the tarp will drip on you I learned that the hard way.

It all come down to your suspension as others said. Drip rings, buckles, toggles and a slipper half hitch with your access line hanging will stop it from entering your hammock.

A drip-line works well. Just wrap an old cotton shoelace on your suspension but make sure it is under your tarp peak. Old school but works. Or like the others pointed out, some hardware to break the drip.
Carry forth.

I should have my rig in a few days. So then I can start getting my posting numbers up to Shug (10000 wow) by asking questions and posting picture of me in the hospital with a fractured tail bone. I am sure I will have some questions ( not about the hospital I will save those for the medical people... on second thought anyone got medical experience too?). Again thanks.
