Good ol' Stormcrow...CEO and kingpin of HammockGear was passing through town on his way to the Minnesota Winter Camping Symposium and we were able to steal away to the Superior Hiking Trail for 2 nights.
Fun and rainy and cold trip.
★✭✭ See Stormcrow's -15º UQ prototype with 22 ounces of down in it. His buttocks was in toasty glory....so I was told.
On the drive home we stood with my favorite Minnesota North Shore Voyageur ....went to Emily's for a walleye sandwich and then stopped by the Minnesota Winter Camping Symposium and saw MacEntyre, Fourdog, beep, Stairguy, Snipen and Fitz all with their hammocks. The canvas stove tent/teepee stovejack crownd looks at hammocks with a cocked head and worried brow))))
Whoooooo Buddy Ya'll.
All secure in sector seven,
Shug

great to see the pair of you. Low to mid 20's ---- prime sleeping temps! Nothing like being snuggled in a cocoon of downy goodness and relish beating the coolness, but not so cold that you have to be worried about handling things with bare hands for a little bit.
Them was hardy girl scouts down below Section 13, as you'd expect in Northern Minysootta.

Goodness gracious. Still don't know about that northern night air you got there. That would be our Florida deep winter. Beautiful area though.
If you want to warm up for winter, come to the 2nd annual Florida Hang.
I can't wait to start the glorious mornings with that great cup of cofe.

Hello Mr Shug,
Good to see you back in your winter attire, and out doing a little late night strolling. That –15 Deep Winter Underquilt Prototype has some serious loft. Looks like a real bum & back burner (hot)! Veerrry nice! Girl scouts you didn’t want to freak out, yet the next day it was, “Section 13 proper, WHOOO!” lol When you did that, I ducked for cover! lol That may have freaked them out a bit – it did me! I think you both had a little too much toffee nose coffee! All the tomfoolery that went on after it was a bit of a give away. It was good tomfoolery though! If I ever get back over the pond, I’ll be doing Section 13, just because it’s being made famous here at Hammock Forums, it sounds good name and place wise.
Anyway, thanks for the video! It was a great way to start the day... I feel like going outside and loudly singing a song... but I don’t feel like getting arrested, so I won’t.

Thanks.

You seam to be liking that fleece. And what Stormcrow was wearing looked a little fleece like.
I had kind of been leaving my fleece for around home & work, rather than hiking, thinking it to be to bulky & heavy, but after a cold, rainy day in Linville Gorge (feeling chilly at around freezing), I'm thinking my fleece might have felt pretty good.

Thanks for the great video, very entertaining. I hope those girl scouts weren't as rowdy as the scouts I encountered half way thru a hike at the Royal National Park near Sydney. It was a entertaining early morning rise, as it rained all night and they where all wet and cold, I was dry and warm of course.

There really were no Girl Scouts....never see them camping. We never saw a soul on the trail and that is always the way I like it. Glad you got out there ...
