Very bad idea. If it did slip, the knot would attempt to release the bury!
To the OP...the more weight you add, the tighter the bury grips. :thumbup1:

always test with your hangs and push down into the hammock. Or push down on the ridge line.
I have topped mine out at 285 and they dont budge, unless, it slips off the toggle  which has happened to me twice, and it is quite the sudden drop:D
milk that bury, double or like me quadruple check your toggles and hop in for some whoopie hangin!!
First upgrade right into Dutchware! Well met my good hanger.
Now I am jealous:thumbup:
At 285 My whoopie slings hold me just fine, I admit I was scared of them and used straps for a year or so before I took the plunge and bought them, now I wish I had purchased them sooner.
I bet you will too.
Next stop dynaglide suspension
I think I'm going straight to the straps without a toggle for now. Maybe I'll get more brave later.
Took a while to get to this point!
Thanks for clarifying the "Milk" advice. I got it as soon as you said "Chinese Finger Cuffs". It made total sense after that.
And for the rest of my rotund brethren; thanks for the reassurance. It makes me feel much better about this.
I fell just right about two feet on to the granite while fishing in the High Sierras a few years back and cracked my tailbone. Then had to hike out about 3,000 feet and five miles down. By the time I got to the bottom I swear I was seeing in black and white. That definitely made me a bit gun-shy!
