Ouachita Trail in mid-March

Hey all,
I'm planning on doing another bikepacking trip for my spring break on the Ouachita Trail. I will be using a DIY top loading hammock, single layer. In the past I've used a double layer.

My question is:
Will my Gossamer Gear 1/4 pad work in those kind of temps? Should I use a Speer SPE to keep the pad in place or will it stay put pretty good? Should I have ordered a 3/8 instead?

Those pads are fairly 'sticky', so they should stay in place pretty good. I'd say a 1/4" pad will do you fine as long as temps stay above freezing.
