Thanks for the info SM, that was the word I got from friends........If you want to overnight camp and then fish in Weiss Lake there is always Cherokee Rock Village for the hanging. It is a local/regional, bouldering/climbing hotspot just up the road from the lake. Lately they have been cleaning the area up and Cherokee County Development, where its located, is making improvements to the area. Nice road to drive up, plenty of spots to camp at and Port-o John's if you are so inclined to use them:scared:. Some are right off the access road others off in the woods down a "wash out" dirt road........cars can make it but I would not advise it. Attached are some photos from CRV looking down on Weiss Lake.
Since they were mentioned, here's one picture each from:

I am interested. Angry's pic of Walls of Jericho makes me want to go there. I'll make sure to get that weekend off.
Wow, there was a time when places like the Walls of Jericho were secret places only known by locals.
Here's a shot take in 1976 hiking into the Wall. The only one that has barely survived in my photo album.
This was back when you could access the wall by following the stream and did not have to climb down in from the top.
SpaceCadet, if you've never been there it's one place you don't want to miss. The climb out is worth it.

The walls of Jericho are awesome. Hiked in with the wife a year or two ago. Been wanting to take the scouts. I would love to go on a Hang. New to the forum and hammock camping. Got a Hennessy expedition for Christmas and camped with the scouts at lake Guntersville. beautiful spot but the only two people who stayed dry were my self and a friend both of us in hammocks. I look forward to meeting some people. cheers

Walls of Jericho are sounding very promising. I will try to keep this weekend open if we get enough interest to plan a hang.
