I think for the value, I'll go with Zing-it 2.2. It has strength and I can splice it easier than 1.75 (any opinions on that?). Where is the best price and place to buy it?

I use the 2.2 for tarp ridgeline.
This site is actually a few dollars less. The link takes you to the 2.2 zing-it but they have 1.75 if you prefer.

I'd go with the heavier size, because spectra/dyneema loses so much strength from frictional heating. the 2.2 give you a better option all around.
Also personally I lift and tie off a block (sailing pulley) for hanging bear bags. The damage lifting a few oz of pulley and light line is none to the tree. And then the heavy bag is much easier to lift and does no damage to the tree.
I have seen way too many trees with all the reasonable branches killed from poor bear bagging practices I'll carry a little more weight to help the trees and make my life easier.
Of course overnight or weekend food bags are much lighter than two week trip bags... :)
Just make sure to err on the sid eof saving the trees as not doing so will eventually get us banned from parks or other controlled use areas.
