HH Hex Tarp Pole Mod - Choosing the pole

I just received my package back from 2QZQ after getting zipper and Tarp Mods completed.

I've never had to replace a tent pole before, or purchase one without an original to copy.

Can anyone offer assistance in how to go about figuring out what I need (number of sections, length, tips, etc), and the pros/cons of the various materials?

Is this a secret?

Small diameter yellow pvc

I'd be interested in this "secret" too. I've got the pole mod,but haven't yet gotten around to ordering poles as I wasn't sure what I'd really need, nor even how to measure for it.

The Nanolites are good for the standard width. You might want to go a bet larger for a wider tarp to keep the poles from "snaking" a bit. Tim uses the Carbon Fiber poles, for his winter tarp, which are lightweight but strong.
