VIDEO: Part 4 Hammock How-To... Essentials for Noobs & What-Nots
Lets take a look at the Warbonnet BlackBird Hammock and all of the features ....... sweet.
Bug season is coming so bug-nets are covered.
Some folks asked about attaching suspension to the hammock so I can show you what I do. Learned from JustJeff's Site
A close up of the larkshead knot for suspension to the hammock.
A brief chat on hammock ridgelines ... what, why and what for.
A hammock song.
Some talking hands.
Other weirdness and hopefully some info.
Next .... we get into tarps for hammocks! .... coming as soon as I get some chores done.
I thankee for putting up with me..........
All secure in sector seven,
Shug
I'm gonna give you an OoooooRaaaah!! before I even watch it. :)

Awesome Video Shug. That is the best explanation IMHO of how to attach a woopie to the WBBB that ive seen. I get the larks head now and I love when that light bulb goes on in my head. After watching your video and looking at my WBBB I see how easy it is now and thing I might switch out the stock suspension. If I wanted, could I use the webbing that Brandon provided in his suspension system to make tree huggers? Thanks for the afternoon entertainment Shug, cant wait for number 5

Thank you very so much!
It was my DIY I was using but it is basically the same on the BB ..... just loosen the ridgeline by pulling it out a bit on the end outside of the BB ... Just watch how you do it and reverse the whole deal and pull the RL back in from the inside. Easier to do than to type about!
#5 may be a little bit .... tarps .... a whole new can of worms.

Just watched all four vids. Great stuff. You give a fantastic overview of all the topics that are dear to our hearts. Noob's will get a huge leg up with these vids. And you're class act referring out to Grizz for the good work he's done.

Yessir .... and it comes with shockcord and mitten clips to hook it up in many ways. 7 ounces....I can't make one that light.

I learned best from teachers that made a subject interesting .... any subject. Used to get called to the principals office from time to time when I was doing not so well in a class and my rebuttal was "Sir ... it may just be the teacher and not me...." That never sat well.

That is one dandy bug net. Now, I gotta go shake some people down to get the moo-la to afford it! LOL
Shug, another wonderful vid. My wife was laughing when she was listening to you from across the room. On your next vid installment, could you instruct how to put the ridgeline in and how know what length they should be?

It just keeps getting better! And more to come? Doesn't get any better than this. Great ending to an otherwise so-so day. Thanks Shug!

I'll try ... but in the meantime ....
The ridgeline length is up to you ..... and how much sag you want.. Start at 100" and go either way from there. It just hooks to on end of the hammock with a loop ... where the suspension meets the whipping. Take it to the other end and do the same .. tie a knot that you can untie easily and start checking your perfect sag. Easy as pie.
Look at JustJeffs site ....Ridgelines
and this will really help.

Since recieving 400ft of line from the zing-it lash-it group buy I have 25ft of 7/64 amsteel that I won't need to use as my tarp ridgeline. Now I'm gonna make a nice big whoopie sling for my hammock ridgeline.
