As I lay here in my eno, with the lovely 78* weather I look upon my suspension and think "I can simplify that..."
so what I have is an all one pice strap/whoopie/ring/rl all spliced together and permanent. I have loops in my channels, and a biner from there to the rings. Couldn't I drop the biners and loops in favor of just a soft shackle thru the channels?

one more question, and i have yet to figure this one out.
everytime i have hung up either of my hammocks, the RL is always taught. i can move it up and down, but not bend it. is that ok? or am i doing something wrong here....
Your body weight is going to tighten the RL...no way around that, and really,,the ridge line is doing what it is designed to do,,keeping the hammock at the right length your comfortable with. Its keep you in the zone of your sweet spot. If you notice on some of the ridge line makers,,the types of string or material they use,,they sometimes post the weight limitations on the RL..whoopieslings has a RL made to purchase advertising 200lb limit.
