Great Allegheny Passage

The end of June I'll be doing my first multi-day bike ride on the GAP as part of the Greenway Sojourn and was wondering if anyone else has done this ride and whether it's possible to hang every night or if I should also bring a tent as a backup.

Since gear will be transported separately bringing a tent along wouldn't be a huge inconvenience but I'm also considering getting an underquilt before the trip and wonder if the quilt will be adequate if I have to go to ground or if I should rely on a pad instead.
